Holy Crap!! Talk about the mother of all stories to wake up to. According to Mike Florio at Profootballtalk.com, The Seahawks have agreed to trade their first round pick for Chad Johnson. How the freak did this happen? Just when you think you understand a teams philosophy for a sec.
This is out of the realm of my understanding. I am baffled. As exciting as it will be to have a big play guy like 85, he doesn't seem to have the type of personality to fit in here. He did say he wanted a chance to win, and while in Tampa, Ruskell and McKay once traded two firsts for Keyshaun Johnson, but you would have thought they learned their lesson.
To check out the rest of my rant.....
APRIL FOOLS SUCKERS!!!!

It's clearly time to go to bed.
Damn you Michael you almost killed me.. lol that was awesome tho i was seriously in shock
ReplyDeleteHoly SH#@ you had me going. I thought I was going to pass out I was so beside myself. That was good, thanks for keeping it fun!
ReplyDeleteYung Hawk

ReplyDeletesweet jesus do i hate this day, i hate it so much
Every F'n year someone gets me.
ReplyDeleteIt only took me about 3 seconds, but goddam the heart jump - thank God I am a fit 22 year old.
This site has just become so quality that I just click on it expecting up to date Seahawks news. You used this being the best source for Seahawks news against us. Brilliant.
Nice...haha.
ReplyDeleteNow watch it actually happen, just to spite you Mike.
That is a EVIL trick posting that before midnight.
ReplyDeleteThat would rule, btw.
ReplyDeleteThat was good... got me. I was just about to call everyone I knew and send mass e-mails... good thing I "read more". Hahaaaa...
ReplyDeleteNiiice
I know that was funny and everything and I hate to be a wet blanket, but...
ReplyDeleteIf you want to be taken seriously as a source of information I suggest you resist the temptation to post bogus or "April Fools" stories. Just my $.02
man you made me get out of bed and pop in the madded to make the trade and on top of that hes my favorite WR man that was great and the best ive ever been had on april 1st keep up the good work and im glad this day only comes once a year im to young to have a hart attack GREAT one Mike...
ReplyDeleteThats messed up Mike...LOL...I was thinkin we screwed up our draft again this year...Would be nice to have Chad Johnson..But i was set just goin into the draft and takein care of our needs there
ReplyDeleteThank god this was a joke
Nice. In the spirit of April Fools, I must be a fool. Speaking of fools, in your original post you referred to Chad as, "big play guy like 86". Dude, Chad is number 85. Chad is easily my favorite WR not currently a Seahawk. His drive, work ethic, and entertainment value is unparalleled.
ReplyDeleteseatowntp
Good one Mike. Don't do that to a man just waking up. I almost had a heart attack. Be a sad day for me if Ruskell did do something like that. Let us know when you get your April fools joke. I hope it is a good one.
ReplyDeleteYou should nominate yourself for Assclown of the week, Mike. That was cold! you sir, are a dweeb.
ReplyDeleteseriously, nice going, that was the most evil april fools joke since some damn radio station got me to believe led zeppelin was reformed and playing a huge show in seattle..somehow without my having hear of it...more than 15 years later, i still believe anything for at least 10 seconds...maybe I should be the new Assclown...
-SlaveToTheBusinessman
Honestly, I knew it was an April Fools joke the minute I read it. For better or worse, I just know Ruskell's stubborn, tenacious quest for high character players so right off the bat, I knew it was a joke. But hey, I LOVE a good April Fool's joke..I will have to get juked some other time today!
ReplyDeleteTezzer 21
of course! noone can fool the tezzer! What were we thinking? if only we could all just be as intelligent and aware. just stop it.
ReplyDeleteThanks - I needed the laugh.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I didn't need the raise in blood pressure before the laugh, though.
Off Topic - Does anyone have an update as to the new practice facility? Is the team working out there now, if not, does anyone know when the offices will be moved there permanently?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Truehawk
Damn you....I almost bougth breakfast for the office..I got up clapping before I clicked on "read more". Good one.
ReplyDeleteMike you're a damned fool!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in Georgia so I woke up to that. I'm under enough stress and pressure as it is. I just about had an anxiety attack!!! I hate 85 more than life itself and I don't know what I'd do if we got him...
I was doing back flips the second i read this post...I called my dad and mom to wake them up, only to hit the "read more" button in the middle of all this...
ReplyDeleteYou are one twisted guy Mike. AHHHHH!
Damn You! LOL
ReplyDeleteNot very funny. ok well it was funnier than my fiance's joke on me. Last year she told me she was pregnant and showed me an ultrasound from the clinic she worked at. That was messed up and that's not the funny part. We got pregnant two months later.
ReplyDeleteMike, your a dick! LOL I called my buddy and everything, I looked like a total ass!
ReplyDeleteWow! You really got me going on that one! PHEW!
ReplyDeleteAnon--the funniest part is she was doing a dry run--see if the baby news sends you running for the hills. It didnt, so she went ahead and made you a daddy. Congrats anyway, my little guy was a happy accident too, and he's gonna play for the Hawks someday!
ReplyDeleteI always consider myself an up-to-date guy when it comes to Seahawk news, thanks in part to your website. You definitely had me on my phone breaking the news to all my friends when I decided I would read more in the middle of my massive text.
ReplyDeleteApril Fooled the CRAP outta me!
And now hopefully I can April Fool the CRAP outta my friends.
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
This only means Seahawks want the superbowl real bad.
ReplyDeleteThis is unbeliveable. I love it.
Flippin' Sweet!
ReplyDeleteWay to make me waste a perfectly
ReplyDeletegood cup of coffee Mike..
You're awesome!!!!!
That was some heavy sh*t Mike. You had me going. the thoughts that raced through my mind for the 3o seconds before i clicked the link.
ReplyDeletethat was a good joke but I was let down when I found out it was a joke. I think ocho sincho is better than branch. Why don't the hawks do that. I know his attitude is crap but not when the team he is on is winning. Maybe he would want to come to seattle seeing as how we are going to win the superbowl this year.
ReplyDeleteDirtyHawk, He supposedly took swings at his coach and his O-coordinator when he was involved in his only playoff game, so saying his attitude is good when the team is winning is kind of a stretch don't you think?
ReplyDeleteOk well let me rephrase. He seems more happy when his team is winning.
ReplyDeleteThe guy is passionate about the game and obviously his coaches don't know how to deal with him. I think Holmgren's infectious attitude towards the game and how it is played would help Chad see the error of his ways. Look what Belichick did for Moss. It is amazing what happens to a guy like Johnson, or Moss when they join a team that has great values and organization. Moss took a big crap when he was signed with the Raiders because his attitude (the kind of attitude that says get me the ball) didn't allow him to be humbled by all the good players around him because there wasn't any. If Chad did come here with his "give me the ball attitude" I think Hass would accomodate him. We are great without a Big Force WR like Johnson but it would be better with him for sure. Yes, Mike I think that maybe saying he has a goo attitude when his team is winning is a stretch but I think I made my point about it.
What do you think?
Too much to deal with. Plus, what happens when Holmgrens gone next year. Mora may not be the right guy to handle a high matenince personality like Ocho's. I think I would rather take the chance with team guys rather than take on a player like Chad, no matter how good he is.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't be surprised if Moss is less like last year and more like the Oakland days this year. Remember, he was also playing for his legacy and one last big contract, which now he has both pretty much cinched up. He can go back to being a slacker, if he so chooses, especially if the Pats have a bit of letdown. It could get interesting.
Moss wants a WINNING super bowl ring. Theres no way he goes back to taking whole seasons off...not with Brady lobbing him bombs all day, especially not with Stallworth gone. Moss is gonna tear up the record books again this year.
ReplyDeleteFor that matter, Welker might too.
And chad? hes gonna waste all his talent and get hurt because he wont practice hard and stay in shape.
