And Seahawk Fans Shed a Tear.....

Actually, no they don't. The Lambs have handed Issac Bruce a pink slip. Personally, I know he was old, but he should have been a Lamb for life. Expect him to end up opposite DJACK in Mike "Mrs. Doubtfire" Martz's spread attack. And Hawk fans can now focus there attention to worrying about the Cards as the primary competition for the NFC West.

PS--It is 2pm, RFA tenders were due an hour ago. Whats up w/ Weaver? Normally I try to play nice with the big boys and their fancy laminates, but is everybody sleeping on this or what?

NEW UPDATE-- I retract my previous statement...Danny O'neil is on it and will have something shortly. Apparently I am not the only one who cares.

  4. Seahawks must have a contract in the works for Weaver.

  5. O'Neil reports that Weaver has been tagged, however, he does not have the specific draft pick that the 'Hawks would get it another team signed him.

  6. ... of course, I meant "tendered" and "if" another team signed him.

Must pay attention when typing ...

  8. Draft a guy like Owen Schmitt in the 4th round (if he's available) and sign Neal for this year.

He's going to be fine for '08. I know he's 37 but he's arguably the best lead blocking FB of all time. I've heard that more than once from multiple sources.

Weaver isn't good enough to be a lead blocking FB and yet not elusive enough to be a RB. He's kind of a jack-of-all-trades and master-of-none.

I'm not saying Weaver sucks, he's decent. But we can/should do better.

Sure, maybe not yet but given time and some Mack love, he'll definitely improve.

To be perfectly frank, he was the best backfield player bar none when I saw the Saints and Rims (sic) games in October. His great run against the latter was truly a joy to behold. I just wish we utilised him a tinsy bit more.

  10. Come on. After that gutsy run against Washington and we are talking about replacements....no, you should be ashamed, Weaver has earned a shot as the Starting FB for the season. If he stinks, he is an UFA next year!

  12. Weaver definitely deserves a shot, plus all year, he continually improved. You cannot ask for anything more than improvement. He is young and a beast. His touchdown run not only showed running skills but use of blocking.

His blocking skills will improve. If watch many games last year he would set up a block and SA would run on the inside and into the guy Weaver was blocking. It makes it tough when the RB runs his own patterns and does not follow the play. Plus he provides a great presence in the screen game. He played the role TE alot as well as security blanket for Matt. I think he has a future as baptizing brute for the Seahawks and betting on a 37 year old is not smart...what was his name, oh yeah POLLARD (35)!
