Bedtime Stories

Before I call it a night, I thought i would post links to two articles worth reading. The first is from Clare at the PI-- It says the Seahawks are still the team to beat...according to Martz and Wisenhunt

The second is an article from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal.
The Packers feel they may have missed an opportunity on Mike Wahle

The Wahle article is particularly telling. Mike McCarthy obviously believes he is still a talented player, and the MJS seems to hint that Ted Thompson blew it.

  1. It's hard not to feel great about the Wahle signing after reading that article. With the ridiculous deals for guards signed last year, I think we got a huge bargain. Faneca is a similar age, and he's about to break the bank somewhere.

  2. Thanks for the link. That was a fun article to read and I'm excited to think that Chris Gray may no longer start on our line. A proactive and quality move by our FO.

  3. Wahle was a guy that GB refused to pay for when he originally left there. I felt at the time we needed to take a run at him, but it didn't happen, I am pretty pleased with him FINALLY getting here.

BTW. I absolutely do not want Chris Gray as a starter, and have screamed it from the rooftops, at the same time, I absolutely want him on the roster as a reserve because of being able to play all 3 interior postions, much as I would like to keep Womack, for exactly the same reasons. Pork Chop is #1 backup for both tackle spots and can play both guard spots, that is just huge.
Relying on either of them as a starter is folly, Gray due to age, and Womack due to being somewhat injury prone.
This is not like the old line with Habib, Beede, Feasel and even Williams (who went on to play better elsewhere)

  4. Its so nice to be the team that others worry about. All those years wondering what it would be like to be one those teams and now I do. Lets get a Super Bowl and seal the deal.

  5. Hey Mike have you checked out this kid from Kansas State, Jordy Nelson.

I really like what the kid brings to the table and I think the Hawks could steal him in the 3rd-4th round.

  6. Zzzzzz. Sleeping well!!! Love the Wahle deal and looking forward to some good signings this off-season. Hoping for a big DE/DT to help the pass rush. If we can land Otah or Scheuning, I think our O-line will be solid.
