This is for those of who may only have a basic grasp of what the combine is, but want to learn more. Rob Rang and the guys at NFL Draft Scout have a very comprehensive work up of what the combine is all about. It is a really thorough piece. This is why their site is so great.
Along with this is a companion piece with a breakdown of who to really watch at the combine. Get ready, it will be the talk of the town starting on Thursday(1st day of workouts). I don't know about you guys, but I can sit around and watch this stuff all day long on the NFLN. I don't even care what this makes Mrs. Seahawk Addict say about me! END

ReplyDeleteBookmarks are so 1999, it's all about RSS feeds. That way you don't have to check TNT every day just to be disappointed, instead you get 2-3 nice posts everyday on Seahawks Addicts.
ReplyDeleteAre any Seattle beat reporters going to the combine? It sounds like reporters don't get inside the dome anyway, but can interview any player they want in a designated area.

ReplyDeleteGoing over an old topic. Nobody seems to wanna mention a young TE by the name of Joe Newton. I was impressed by what little I saw of him. Can he be an up and comer to where we sign a crumpler type for a year or 2. Any thoughts?

ReplyDeleteWhat is wrong with Brad Cottam (TENN, TE, 6'8",270+lbs) in Round 3 or Round 4 instead of someone much shorter with acknowledged blocking issues? (Not to mention not having the height to create mis-matches up the middle)
ReplyDeleteI too am confused about why Brad Cottam is not considered the best TE in this draft. My understanding is that he is the best physical specimen: 6'7", 271, and with a 40 time of 4.68. He is the best blocker, and I haven't heard anyone say that he has issues recieving. I don't understand this, does anyone have know why is so far down the list of Tight Ends?

I need to learn more about this Brad Cottam guy, sounds like a good deal.
nfl draft scout says that he is steadily moving up. a solid combine and he could go as high as round 2, currently projected round 3. although injured this year with the wrist injury he still made improvements. the coach was very high on his recieving skills although he was used more as a blocking TE.

They were gold when they had Sando and the boom town was built, but now that the gold is gone (Sando) I totally see them as being a ghost town. I know I sure as hell have moved on from that crap blog.
Hopefully Nighthawk won't come over. Can we keep this site a secret from him?

ReplyDeleteJoe Newton had pretty good hands but may be a little too slow to be a receiving threat in the NFL (his combine numbers at NFL Draft Scout show him to be the slowest of top TEs last year).
ReplyDeleteMy hope for Newton is that he beefs up over the off season and becomes more of a blocking TE.
