The amount of noise coming from Kirkland right now is reminescent of a home game with the Hawks on offense. I think a lot of us would prefer it sound like the first quarter of a wild card game. Hopefully something breaks by Thursday.
Anyway, it is nice to see a Seahawk beat reporter back at work. Danny O'Neil has a couple of blog posts today about the week ahead. Thanks Surf Hawk! With news coming out fast and furious from many big time NFL cities, I was wondering if anybody even cared in Seattle. Myself, I am still playing hurt, as i check in from another wi-fi hotspot. Don't worry, Seahawk Addicts still has you covered if news breaks.
Judging by the #'s, I don't have to tell you guys anymore, the blog set new highs in hits (1380) and visitors (621) yesterday. Somebody commented it would be nice to hear about that stuff, so if your interested, there it is. That was without being able to blog most of the day too. Not bad for only being up an running for about 10 days. I can't wait to see what they look like in March! So thanks again to all, keep the discussion rolling, and i will check in later when I can. And here is the rest of it.
Love this blog and I will pass it along to all my homies here in Oregon. Really looking forward to a quality spot to find pertinent info when your football team runs your life. This in contrast to surfing for 1/2 hour to get informed. This blog is greatly apprectiated. Good work!
ReplyDeletethat someone was me (stats), I was going to try and set up a blog like you did as I am a die hard hawks news junkie too but yours is working just fine and all the folks that use to surf TNT need one place to shop. The only problem is your going to need to quit your day job, get a press pass and go over to Kirkland and get some quotes ASAP like Sando use to do!!
ReplyDeleteI'll sign the petition for you to get a press pass. It'll be better than Frank saying that pracite wasn't anything special and some lines he copy/pasted from a gambling site that had odds on it.
ReplyDeleteAt least we'll know soon if Tru gets franchised!
ReplyDeleteI love the site and also like to see the progress of your work. TNT has taken a total shit dive in the past year and is no longer worthy of calling themselves an "insider".
ReplyDeletecan't wait for the combine. took the time off to drive my wife nuts watching it.
ReplyDeleteNo way in hell they are an "Insider" anymore.
ReplyDeleteThey are a crap second rate newspaper who used to have a good thing but now they are worthless for information.
Seahawks Insider is a joke.
ReplyDeleteFrank destroyed it.
Mike are you a young Sando in the making?
I hope so
I hear ya... they suck worse than the refs in SB XL...
ReplyDeleteIt takes A LOT to suck that bad!!!
Okay, I also have jumped ship from the TNT blog. But I will defend those guys. They were head and shoulders above anyone else when Sando was running that show. When he left they were still a nose better than the rest, even with Frank learning the ropes. Since the playoffs began they are equal to the other local newspaper blogs. They had an advantage that brought hordes of Seahawk Addicts to their site, to their newspaper who wouldn't otherwise go to hear what a Tacoma newspaper had to say, and they lost it.
ReplyDeleteNow the key is to keep EPGD away from this blog. We don't need him bring us back down!

Thanks for the up-to-date info regarding important Seahawk and NFL happenings. Keep up the good work. Hello to posters from the old Sando stomping grounds. If I paid for Seahawks Insider (TNT) I'd be pissed, but who knows what their resources or budget are. It was great for a while and in a way, could be thanked as a founding father of sorts for the genesis of this blog, which I'm enjoying very much. Thanks.

Who knows what their resources and budgets were? Come the freak on...seahawkaddicts.com has ZERO budget. This guy does it for free. TNT is a sorry excuse for a newspaper and that's why free markets are so incredible. Consumers will ultimately get what they want. This is a great example of it. Great job!

I've got to tell you, your blog is way better that TNT, and I had been there about everyday for a year. Your stuff is more interesting, pertinent to the Hawks, and the good info is posted here sooner. Good job man.
ReplyDeleteThe difference is I do it because I am a die hard Seahawks fan. I think Frank is an NBA fan at heart, and a Packers fan in his personal life. The problem is, despite everyones pleas, i will not have access to the players and lockeroom. However, I will be able to other stuff to compensate, such as live blogs (hopefully like PFT) during away games. And maybe even from camp, if they are serious about allowing fans. In the end, i hope the two sites TNT and this one will work together to provide the Seahawk Addicts everything they need.
ReplyDeleteI know this might be shot in the dark, but Mike, what if you showed the amunt of hits and additions to your blog to somebody at the Seahawks and see if you get a press pass. Remember we are a pretty liberal team with an owner that started in the tech world and we serve Jones Soda which was started by some heads with an excessive amount of tattoos. Might as well give it a try.
ReplyDeleteProblem #1 is that I live in Los Angeles. My girl works in the fashion industry. As great a city as Seattle is, it doesn't have a fashion industry. Only LA or NY. However, I have season tickets and go to all home games. Also, all the press conferences are online. So the one thing I really can't cover is practices. But as i said in the previous post, i have lots of plans to make this a great site during the season, despite the lack of daily practice reports, for which i will be summarizing the beat reporters work. In fact, i was thinking about making the next poll, what TNT features do you want SeahawkAddicts to bring back? I am thinking of overing tickets for the winner of a pick contest, along with picking against my girl for fun. I am planning on charting plays for the games once i watch them on tivo. Live blogs during the away games. Maybe during home games too, if i can find one of you to lead them. This site will be plenty relevant with out a press pass, as much as i wish i could be a beat writer, at times it takes away from what can be done with the blog.
ReplyDeleteDang boy you are committed to this bad boy! We don't want you to burn out though, so take it slow, don't over-commit your time, spend time with your fashion lady, and provide consistent, timely posts and we'll all be happy.
ReplyDeleteSurf Hawk
Keep this up and you just, one day, might be a beat writer....hopefully covering the Seahawks of course. I heard TNT is in desperate times for a beatwriter/blogger for the Seahawks, but I wouldn't know because I haven't been over there for a while.
ReplyDeleteSure like this place.. gonna actually start putting in an identity here.. :)
ReplyDeleteConsider me the one, only true and offical "Phil"
(Byte me Duert!)
:) :) :) :) :) :) :)
