Bentley Signs with Texans

According to reports, Kevin Bentley has signed a 3yr 4 mil deal to become a Houston Texan. Clare Farnsworth has this posted here.

Even if Bentley does get a chance at more playing time in Texas, he certainly isn't being paid like a starter. It doesn't seem like the type of situation where he would let Seattle match the offer. I think they would have at this rate. He obviously wanted a better chance to make a mark. It is also possible he clashed with the new coach, however, that is pure speculation.

Anyway, good for Kevin. The Texans are on the rise. I hope he reaches his potential. The Hawks have two capable backup linebackers in Herring and Laury. Maybe now they will put an emphasis on re-signing Koutovides, who is probably being underwhelmed with similar offers.

  1. Good luck to Bentley. He was a very solid back-up for the Hawks and he deserves the chance to play a bigger role in a defense.
He shouldn't be be hard to replace.
