Michael Boulware signed a one year deal with the Minnesota Vikings. He will be their third saftey.
I can see it now,if one of their safeties gets hurt, they will use their vicious rushing attack to mount 8 to 10 minute ball control drives, only to have Boulware give up touchdowns in less than 30 sec of game time. Classic!!

Looks like Al Davis needs to stay the Assclown the whole season. $24.5 mill guarenteed to D hall. That sucks for us regarding Tru.

I feel bad for Boulware. He was a great college LB, too small to play that position in the NFL. And he was pretty good his rookie season as well. He just couldnt seem to learn that his first instinctive step should be to backup and backpedal, not lunge forward at every fake like a head-hunting LB...
ReplyDeleteI'm rooting for the guy, I hope he finds a good position coach who can tap his athletic ability and teach him how not to get burned...

I liked Boulware as well...of course I got fed up once he started giving up plays (even though I think he got blamed for a lot of things that were not his fault. He was at fault enough time to warrent getting cut, but still more blame than he actually did).
ReplyDeleteThe guy single handedly won...what 3 games for us his rookie season with game clinching INT's?? He was a ball hawk and did great his rookie year. Just too bad he couldn't completely grasp the position.
Gotta say I liked Boulware too. He did let the occasional big play occur but so did the rest of our defense! I don't think he was the whole problem that year. I mean what about Hamlin getting knocked upside the head when he was carousing in Pioneer Square? I hope he can find a spot and excel, learning from his mistakes while still laying down some huge hits. Good Luck to ya in Minnesota Boulware.
ReplyDeleteThat's kinda harsh.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we've moved on, but I liked the guy and I wish him well.
I'd rather see Boulware do well than Hamlin.
ReplyDeleteI liked him, too. He was a ball-hawk in my memory more than burnt toast.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of toast:
Can anyone explain to me why either Williams or Hamlin made the pro-bowl? Makes me want to puke beef stew all over my screen.
OT, but there's no comment thread (yet!) in the "AssClown of the Day" section. Michael, I agree that Sharpton is way overreaching here but your question What the holy hell does [the local police department]have to do with football Al? doesn't seem to reflect the fact that black Americans don't have much in the way of leverage. I think Sharpton is wrong here, but I don't think he's wrong on principle.
ReplyDeleteRemember Arizona and the Super Bowl? The state of AZ refused to recognize MLK day. The league threatened to move the Super Bowl to Pasadena and the state of Arizona backed down. That's a perfectly legitimate use of leverage. The fact is that professional sports are just about the highest-profile venue that black Americans have to make noise on issues.

I hope hamlin does well too. Ruskell booted him, he didnt leave.
ReplyDeleteAnd hopefully he's learned:
a)NFL players arent invincible
b)if you fight with a gangsta, you might get brained by a roadsign,
c)if its 4th down Looong, dont catch an interception along the sideline at the ten, losing 30 plus yards of field position--instead, DROP THE BALL!,
and D)iF youre dumb enough to catch that interception, under no circumstances are you to literally pat yourself on the back in view of 60,000 fans who all would have known better than to catch that ball.
If he's learned all that, maybe dallas will have a free agent steal.

Easy answer to your question Misfit:
ReplyDeleteHamlin was a Cowboy....
How the hell did Dalls put...what....13 something players in the Pro Bowl????? Half of them were not deserving of it, but they have the fanbase to get voted in.
I bet the majority of the people who vote for the Pro Bowl don't even look at the player's names, they just look for their team and vote for them. How else would some of these people be cosidered an All-Pro?
But then you also have the people who vote off of someone's reputation....such as Ogden. The guy was injured almost all year and didn't play very well at all, however he was still voted to the Pro Bowl. As good as he is, he didn't deserve it this year.
I am sorry if I was a little harsh. I was a 100% Boulware supporter until the SD game ruined my Christmas in 06' If the team had beaten SD, they would have sat the regulars in Tampa, hence we wouldn't have had corners off the street, and maybe, just maybe, Berrian wouldn't have gotten deep on us twice! Unless Boulware was playing....Just Kidding!
ReplyDeleteI think Boulware's finest game was at the Metrodome where he picked the ball in the endzone to end the game. That or the Miami home game that year, although there is no way we should have even been behind in that game!
I say good riddance to both of them. It was such a pleasant surprise to watch the hawks this year and not have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach because I just KNOW our secondary is going to give up the big play. Nothing personal, but thank God T.R. Had the sense to pick up Grant and Russell last season.
ReplyDeleteWhile you're harping on Boulware, go back and watch the play he made on the interception in the Superbowl. It was unreal how high in the air he got. He's a heck of an athlete, even if he's not a great DB.
ReplyDeleteJust to slightly defend the people of Arizona, I would rather have a Holiday in October, then in the middle of January as well, regardless of the name attached.

I will still root for Boulware, I liked the guy, have his jersey in fact. He just couldn't ever make the transition to safety. I felt bad for him and I hope he does well in Minnesota. Hamlin was a different story.
