Earlier today I passed along a report that the Seahawks had a representative at the Georgia Southern pro day. Now comes this report from Nick Derison and The New Star that the Hawks were also in attendance at the pro day of Grambling State.
The star of the Grambling pro day was Clyde Edwards, a receiver who caught 97 balls for 3,215 yards and 37 touchdowns in his career. Grambling also had two CB's hoping to earn a draft spot named Zaire Wilborn and DeMichael Dizer. There was also a DT named Jason Banks on display. Common logic says the Hawks could be interested in any of these players as a late round pick.
I know it ain't sexy, but at least its something to keep the newsreel turning for all those jonesing for some news. END
I have to say, this is the best damn Seahawks site ever!! I mean I check in a few times every day and there is something new for me to read and learn. You guys should be commended for this and I hope it continues!
ReplyDeleteI live in Iowa, but am from Poulsbo, and have been a die hard since my earliest days.....I love this blog, I love this team, I love this front office.....and I want to move back to Seattle!!
Really, thanks guys, this is a huge "fix" to my daily Chawks need.
Truehawk
Truehawk...that's so funny you are also in Iowa. Small world! I am currently going to school in Dubuque, but will return to Seattle this next school year. It's nice to know we are nationwide.
ReplyDeleteWhat is crazier tho, is that I used to live in Bolivia, South America (look it up). I was(and still am) friends with 2 Steeler fans, 4 Bear fans, and one other Seahawk fan. It was truly torturous to watch the Hawks loose SB XL, and it was almost as crushing when we lost to the Bears, I mean THE BEARS (!) last year. Then I came to Iowa, and I had about 1,000,000 of my Packer friends who laughed at my 'Hawks when we fell apart after they were all crying in the 1rst half.
This is the YEAR! I have to believe so! Too bad it will be without Shaun Alexander, but we still got Hass.; but I must say I think J.J. will be one of the greatest trades we have EVER made!
GO HAWKS!
Sorry, J.J. was a signing, not a trade.
ReplyDeleteI live in Buenos Aires but in a few weeks I move back to the states, most likely Seattle. Random info
ReplyDeleteI lived with a Stealers fan, 2 avid Bostonians and 2 New Yorkers and so my house was very sports intensive. Almost intolerable especially when the Red Sox swept the Yankees to go on and win the world series on my friends 21st birthday. Major property damage and relationship with landlord turned ugly.
For seahawks notes, I know that Ruskell does not like small school players but what about Andy Studebaker from Wheaton at DE? He is injured so we can get him late and cheap, might be the beast we need for depth on the d-line.
ReplyDeleteRight on, I have been to Buenos Aires many times. So I suppose you know Spanish? It is my first language.
ReplyDeleteAnyways. Studebaker from Wheaton--he IS a beast. I have 2 good friends that go there in Chicago and they say he single-handedly turned that program around! He went there because he wanted to go to Christian program and the only one good enough was Wheaton since Georgia (Christian coach) didn't offer him a scholarship. ESPN had him ranked #5 at his position I think, or maybe as a sleeper. EVERYBODY, watch this video of him please!

As a side note, has anyone ever noticed how many Christians are on the Hawks? There are way more than the average on the team. Hasslebeck, Tatupu, Weaver, SA, Mebane, Josh Brown (gone, inexplicably), Peterson (?), Gray, etc. Those are the one's I know that are most likely Christian. I have been to Hass.'s church, great guy.
Why so many Christians? Well, Mike Holmgren and Tim Ruskell (?) for starters.
I am a Christian, so this encourages me. Kind of funny the Hawks are here, in one of the most liberal cities in the US! But it definitely gives a clue as to why TR and MH like "character" guys. ;)
Clyde Edwards has 197 catches for 3,215 yards and 37 touchdowns. Most in Grambling State University history. He started all but one game in his career and is an honor student that graduated in Fall of 2007.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great late round pick to me!!!!
