I am back from a warm and sunny field trip to the University of Southern Cal Pro Day. Let me get caught up on whats been going on today, take a look at my camera, and I will hopefully have the write up posted at reasonable time tonight.
Let me say two things that were cemented in my mind today. First...USC not winning the national title last year is travesty. Second...If I had it to do all over again, I would have gone to USC. It is no wonder they get such good recruits. From walking into Heritage Hall and being surrounded by Heisman Trophies, to great weather, beautiful facilities, and beautiful people, USC has it going on!.
Too bad 90% of the people I've met who went to USC are arrogant jerks from privileged WASP families.
ReplyDeleteMike,
ReplyDeleteI wrote this article recently about Lofa Tatupu, called 'The $42 million bargain' for the British NFL site 'Football Diner'.
I've added a link, check it out. Any attention you can throw it's way is much appreciated. The more people check out the site, the more kudos we get as writers.

Nice read Rob
ReplyDeleteYeah, MS, but you have to get to the campus and back without getting mugged or shot.
ReplyDeleteMayock said on NFL network that Fred Davis struggled and was slow in the 40..Said Chauncy Washington ran in the 4.4's in the 40..What were your thoughts on Davis?
ReplyDeletewell, aside from the arrogant WASP asses, they do have some hot b@itches there. I think I am just jealous because I went to Cal Berkeley, which was devoid of hot B@tches.
ReplyDeleteRob, I liked your article and I thought it was well written. You made a lot of good points. The one thing I would argue you on though was the comparrison to Lance Briggs and Calvin Pace. They play different positions. Urlacher and Briggs is like Lofa and Leroy. And Calvin Pace is an unproved guy who is playing outside linebacker in a 3-4, which is a totally different skill set.
ReplyDeleteWhen you consider that Lofa's deal is less than Urlachers, and there has been several years of inflation since then, it seems like a steal.
Anyway, I will put a post up alerting people to it, but it may not be until tomorrow. I am working on my pro day stuff and then I will find a sec to post it.
Thanks for sharing!
Nice read Rob!

ReplyDeletefor my money the "b*tches" part outweighs the "hot" part. particularly when the rich pricks partake in the latter, but all you see is the former. University of Spoiled Children indeed.
/shams, wishing we could edit without deleting
Thanks for that Rob in the UK. Good read and spread the Seahawk cheer.
ReplyDeleteCheers
You guys are idiots. Maybe you havent met anyone that has gone to USC in 30 years, but the school you are describing is not the USC of today. I wont get into throwing around numbers, but I assure you I am prepared if need be.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike, and everyone else for all the positive comments about the article.
ReplyDeleteI agree regarding the Pace/Briggs comparison. It was just an attempt to throw some comparisons in terms of $$$$ out there. Essentially there weren't any other Lofa's hitting free agency, so I just compared to the top rated linebackers full stop.
Urlacher's deal was bigger, and I think I mentioned something about Lofa likely earning that much (plus more) if he'd have moved elsewhere, but that he'd likely be sacrificing playing on a winning team every year.
Any attention for the article is much appreciated even in the comments section, I know your busy but if it's any consolation that's some top notch reporting about the USC day.

ReplyDeleteAaron, numbers? Is there some sort of hot-to-bitchy index that I'm unaware of?
