If any of you may have seen it, NFLN Total Access did a top ten today of last years free agent signings. Obviously, Seahawk fans have a good idea who is at the top of the list. I will give you hint, he was last seen eating Todd Collins' kidney during a sunny afternoon in January(did he even go to GB?). To see the list....
10. Shaun McDonald
9. Cato June
8. Kevin Curtis
7. Erick Steinbach
6. The Hammer
5. Adalius Thomas
4. Leonard Davis
3. Jamal Lewis
2. PATRICK KERNEY
1. supposedly it was a quarterback from a southern team whose sexuality has been questioned by his diva WR. However, considering Kerney knocked him out cold in week one, Big Pat can just occupy both spots on my list.
Oh, he went to Green Bay all right. But since Tapp sucks so bad and our DTs are nothing special they were able to take him out of the game b/c none of our other supposedly good defensive players were worth game planning for...
ReplyDeleteSometimes, if i didn't know better, judging by the comments, i would think this was a 6-10 team who hadn't won a playoff game in 20 years
ReplyDeleteYeah, Tapp is terrible. How did we get through a year with someone with 49 tackles, 7 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 1 interception?!
ReplyDeleteConsidering how great the Seahawks have been the last 5 years, you would think people could just accept the personnel who excel and focus on the real weak spots on the team... It sure isn't the DE position...
Mike, I agree with you. We are in the good days of Seahawk football and people can't seem to enjoy the positives. We do need to get over the hump to becoming an elite status team - which is a challenge to do, but I believe that we are well on our way. Build from the line back on both sides of the ball. Would love to see our first two picks be dominant OL and DT. Not sure what will happen with Tru, but will need to plan for his departure as the two sides seem to be quite far apart. Lets not lose him for nothing.
ReplyDeleteBy the way - awesome site man.
Tapp had 4 sacks against a crappy OT in one game. That takes care of over 1/2 his sacks for the season.
ReplyDeleteI like the guy. He's just situational.
Would any of you know-it-alls game plan for him out of fear?
Remember what Craig Terrill did against the Raiders on Mondaynight 2 years ago? He looked like Mean Joe Green (which some of you must think he is).
tapp is far better than old man fisher would have done, i suppose if he was still here we would have won against GB........I'll admit we didnt play well at all @GB, but a speed D like ours doesnt fair well in the snow. I'll take a youn DE with upside before I take A declining De on his way out of the league

Spo- compton
the jets released andre dyson, he was a pretty decent CB when he was with us. If he comes cheap he might be kinda nice to have for depth
ReplyDeleteDid he have half of his tackles in that game? 2 of his 3 forced fumbles? his interception? None of us are claiming to be know-it-alls; quite the contrary. I for one am tired of arrogant little anonyms acting like they know better than the folks who have led the hawks to the best half-decade in the team's history.
ReplyDeleteTo Seahawk Fans:
ReplyDeleteFirst thing, I don't know if this counts but, we resigned Engram during last years free agency. He was, our best, hands down free agent. I've gotta give some love to Kerney, 14.5 sacks, holy crap. But, how did we forget about Bobby? The guy is ancient, and still our BEST reciever. Also, all of those comercials he does, I can't help but smile.
One more thing, what does being so negative do? We have been to the playoffs more in the last few years than in the last few DECADES!!! We are almost an elite team. Also, we have a real good chance of going to the superbowl next year. Let me rephrase, I think we have as good a chance as any of the ELITE teams in football to go to the superbowl next year. So why so negative?
Mike, I've got to agree with you, and I for one don't get it.

Mock Draft-
ReplyDelete1. Brandon Albert OG
2. Kevin Smith RB
3. Jermichael FInley TE
4. Jamie Silva S
5. Lionel Dotson DT
Maybe Ruskell can sign Jamie Sharper and give him good money. The brainwashed would love that move (again).
ReplyDeleteNot sure if this is in the right spot, but...
ReplyDeleteDamien Woody looks like he is hitting the UFA market on Friday/Saturday whenever, as it does not look like Detroit is going to re-sign him. For those of you with poor memories.. Woody was a all-world center out of college, drafted by the NE Patriots. After putting in his Rookie deal he signed a deal with Detroit, where he has floundered. Woody plays both G and C, and has had some nagging injury concerns, but I think this might be another good O-Line signing, for the right price. Giving us Jones/Wahle/Spencer/Woody/Locklear as a starting 5 that if they were not the best in the NFL as a group, would be hard to tell from it.
Sharper was a fine player, untill he caught a staph infection in his knee. Ruskell dumped him due to his large salary and injury. We never used all our cap space that year, so it isnt like signing sharper hurt us.
ReplyDeleteTapp is not a complete player yet, and disappeared for a month at a time. If he can learn to stop the run and be consistent, he will be a beast.
Dyson is a FA? I wonder if Ruskell fired him due to his being injury prone, or if Dyson didnt rehab hard, or he had a bad attitude or what? WHEN he was healthy, he was freaking awesome for the Hawks. I hope they take a look at him, even if he did get burned a lot last year, the guy is talented, and probably will come cheap.
GB was a total team failure. Players AND coaches were woefully underprepared for the game, and both Lines got flat overpowered. Even Tatupu looked helpless and hapless that day...

Yes Cris...Tapp is a star and my firm belief is next year will be his breakout year. I love watching him in interviews...he's great fun and such a warm person.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for his 4 sacks in one game...good for him. I was there (and all the way from the UK I might add!) and he was outstanding in the first half. Osi had 6 in one game but I don't see that being used as levergae against his talents and Pro Bowl status - his total for the season was 13.
ReplyDelete4 sacks against a poor team still has to be done. It's like 4 goals by one striker in one game - assuming your opponent is playing in the same league - then this is a most commendable achievement.
We've had a great team for a while now. I don't understand the negativity, especially against our own players. Tapp had a good year. He proved himself as a starter, and he will continue to work on his game and be coached. Hopefully he'll have a great year.
ReplyDeletebtw- YOU DON'T MAKE IT TO THE NFL IF YOU SUCK.
You know I don't get it also. If they think that we are so bad and that every move is the worst thing that we could of done and that the team is in such terrible shape, why the Hell don't the jump on some other teams site.
ReplyDeleteGreat site Michael and let's hope that we don't get too many of those negative posters on here like the "Insider" has, that was the first step to it's downfall !!
