Well the Seahawks are scheduled to bring in another player most of us, including me, have never heard of, for a work out. KFFL lists Josh Buchanan of NFL Draft Bible as reporting that the Seahawks are using one of their 30 allotted visits on Bentley Guard, Mackenzy Bernadeau.
NFL Draft Scout has him listed as the 13th best Guard in the class. They say he is quick and athletic, and uses his hands effectively. He could use to get stronger and is coming off a torn meniscus. However, as a late round flier goes, it seems he is a pretty good prospect. NFL Draft Scout projects him as a 7th round pick.
I thought that maybe it would help to have a comprehensive list of visits and interest. So I have compiled a list of the names and pro days that I have noted and included it below, just.....

Interesting that 3 of the top 4 QBs in this draft were visited or worked-out.
ReplyDeleteMike, do you think we're considering Matt's long-term replacement or using these players as leverage for our 1st round or other draft picks?
It's hard to remember this many quality passers likely available so low in the earlier parts of day one.
I would be go out on a limb and say that there is a 0% chance of us drafting a QB at all.
ReplyDeleteMy 2 cents tho: We should do everything in our power to get Tim Tebow to play for the Hawks next year. He is undoubtedly the best player in College right now. Maybe he will how a little of a down year so that he falls to us at 32. This guy is the epitome of a "character" guy. He is an MK (missionary kid) who went to the Philippines and attended Grace Academy. He was home-schooled too (!!). I am a missionary kid myself from Bolivia, South America, so I have heard loads about this kid. His talent is undeniable, and having the kind of character Ruskell loves, he could be the face of our franchise in 3 years or so.
Who knows, but I don't think any of the QB's in this years draft will be great, just OK. It all depends on what system they end up in. Tebow's system is waiting for him here.
I find it hard to believe that we would waste 3 workouts as a smoke screen, but it could be the case. I kind of think that if TR/Mora is really high on one of these guys it's a definite possibility that we take that QB if available, but probably only in the 2nd or lower. I think QBs generally need three years to get used to a system, and that happens to be how many years Hass has left on his contract. Could be an Aaron Rodgers type situation.
ReplyDeleteAs for Tebow, I guess the Spread Option has some WCO features in it. But I'm not really sure how his skill set translates into the NFL.
Yung Hawk
Tim Tebow? sha rite.
ReplyDeleteFancyPants
Wow, he's a missionary kid.. great.. Puke..
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of Tim Tebow..
Booty in the 3rd or 4th round would be great if he lasts that long?
ReplyDeleteIsn't Tebow going to be a junior?? Doesn't seem like the type to leave early, and I know he wasn't redshirted. He may also want to consider working on his passing for another year, I am not sure the fake sneak, jump pass will be so effective in the pros.
ReplyDeleteYeah Tebow will be a Junior. But the best guys in the business always seem to get lured away early. He almost went this year! He would've been the top QB in the draft, maybe he would've gone #1.
ReplyDeleteHe still has things to learn, like anyone his age, but his talent is undeniable.
He almost left for the pros as a sophomore? That would have been interesting..
ReplyDeleteTebow would not have been the #1 QB in the draft this year. Even though I am not sold on Matt Ryan, there is no debating which ones game translates better to the NFL..
Tebow is another in a long line of Heisman winning QB's who never make it in the pro game.. He's a great athlete, but so was Charlie Ward.. Does Tebow have a jump shot?
I agree with Chris....
ReplyDeleteTEBOW!!!!....mancrush?
I would trade a first AND a second round pick for this guy. Matt has been doing a hands-down awesome job. But he won't be around forever, and when he gets replaced, I would want it to be with a stand-up, reliable guy.
Lets keep this machine well-oiled.
GO SEAHAWKS!
Jake Locker wins Heisman over Tebow in '08.
ReplyDeletemisfit, that would require the Huskies to have some TALENT around Jake. He's a great player, but he's not going to get the time to throw deep consistently, just as he didn't last year. Jake's strength is the deep ball, he doesn't yet have a great touch on the mid length passes, tends to overthrow his receivers. That will come with time, but he's not there yet. He's a great threat with his running ability, but really, if they had any sort of decent O-line, Jake might actually have a shot, but they don't, so he won't.
ReplyDeleteTebow couldn't have almost left this year, he was a true sophomore. You have to be three years out of high school to be draft eligible. Remember Maurice Clarett and Mike Williams?
ReplyDeleteLiving here in Florida I follow and root for the Gators. Mike did you even watch Tebo throw last year. He was awesome. Drastic improvement from the year before. IMO he will be the 1st player taken next year if he can stay healthy. Most sites I have seen have him coming out next year but who knows. Anyway I don't see him falling to the hawks who will be picking last of course. Also Tebo was also home schooled! Definitely a Ruskell kid. I'm with ya Chris but don't see him dropping to us.
