While We Wait....

I don't know if you have heard this yet, but there is a report from Scott Eklund of Seahawks.Net that the Hawks will be hosting Chad Henne and Brian Brohm next week.

Usually the Hawks use their alloted pre-draft visits for players they believe will go undrafted and they want to sign. Kind of like a recruiting trip.

In this case, however, I see this as further evidence that the Hawks desperately want to trade back into the early second. By hosting these players, they give the impression that teams may need to make a deal to get up, or the Hawks will snatch one.

Personally, I would be pretty disappointed if the Hawks take a QB, much less in the 1st. Currently Hass, Wallace, and Frye are all under contract for this year, and nobody has even seen Frye play with a training camp under his belt.

  1. I would not be even a tiny bit unhappy if the Hawks took QB Josh Johnson with their third.

    Seneca is not the future.

Frye is just a stab at the future.

    Hass won't last forever.

  2. Yea, I thought the same thing with the two qb's coming to town. I would love to see them trade down to get some extra picks. Guess it depends who is left on the board that they really want.

  3. Danny O'neil at the Times says it's NOT about Shaun.

    I hate waiting ARGGH

  4. If they took a first round QB I would throw up.

Anyways, last night on sportscenter they said that the Seahawks will be the focus of "on the clock" tonight on SC. It's an ok segment, with Jaws, Mortenson and Kiper.

  5. I read somewhere a lil while back that the Hawks LOVED Brohms and it would be hard to pass him up if he reaches to the 25 pick.

I think it was one of the Hawks scouts.

    Anyone else hear about this?

  6. I don't see why people are so put off about drafting a QB high. The facts are - Matt has 2-3 years max at the highest level. You dont draft a rookie QB and throw him in straight away, you give them time to learn playbooks and adjust to the pro game.

Brian Brohm will likely still be around pick 25. If the Hawks like him enough that he's top of their draft board, they'll take him for sure. And why not?

He is perfect for the WCO.

Personally I'd be really happy if we ended up taking Brohm. I think they're looking at him and working him over in case others dont drop to us.

I dont think they'd trade down to take Brohm though. Surely anyone drafting up to 25 will likely use that pick on him?
