It would seem most teams in need of WR's are looking at Bernard Berrian as their top target. The Vikings and Titans are looking at a bidding war come midnight. The 49ers may get involved if they aren't tied up with Lance Briggs and Justin Smith. The two wild cards that will hang around and pick up the pieces are the Skins and the Bucs. Both who now run and offensive system Hack has proven he can in excel in.
-Other notes: Corey Williams looks headed to Cleveland for a 2nd. Very interesting considering Cleveland doesn't have a 1st. They must think Anderson will bring home an offer sheet.
-Also Vilma looks headed to the Saints. One less team who may have been looking at Bentley as a starter. The Lions were previously looking at Vilma, so maybe he goes there.

Just a thought to anyone....what if we let Hackett go and spend big money on Bernard Barian (spell check)? Bernard is a major deep threat and we are deep at #2 WR and below. Opinions?
Benard is too much money. He will cost more than hackett and we would get outbidded anyway.

ReplyDeleteI don't see any way that we will pick up a WR in free agency. Not only are we strapped for cash but, as quoted earlier in this blog, Barian (sp?) wants Deion Branch money. There is absolutely no way this team needs to be paying two #2 WR's #1 money. (that looks very confusing)...
I would much rather see them use whatever money they have left to go after Alge or save it and begin working on extensions for Hill and Tatupu.

BTW, I would rather have Utech over Crumpler. Utech provides us ATLEAST 4-5 years of productivity. Crumpler is a 1 year fix. Also, Utech would cost us less to resign him. Thought?

ReplyDeleteI think that is why we sign ALge the Cookie Crumpler, we sign him to a 2 yr deal and draft a young rookie TE in the second round. That way he has some time to learn our west coast offense before he needs to be a starter.
