Here is what he said....
The final two years of his rookie deal were torn up. He's now under contract through 2015. The new contract is believed to total about $42 million with Tatupu guaranteed to receive $18 million of that total. This makes sense and is a good deal for both parties. Lofa gets the cake he deserved and really, at least to the Hawks, he was probably worth more. Being paid on par with Brian Urlacher is never a bad thing, if you are a middle linebacker.
At first glance, it's believed to be one of the three biggest contracts ever for a middle linebacker and on par with the deal Brian Urlacher received from Chicago.
Now we need to mobilize and start a campaign to get Fathead to make a Lofa!!! He can chill on my wall anyday! END
This is a great site. Please keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteI've tried to get fathead to make anything other than Shaun...I see that they have Largent now...but come on.... Lofa, Hasselbeck, Engram just to name a few would be great to put in my son's room!!
ReplyDeleteI second the motion. I just found this site two weeks ago. Where have I been. Not to many Hawk fans down here in So Cal.
ReplyDeleteHeidi freeking ho! I can offically take the name Simmions off of my #51 jersey and put Tatupu on it and not have to worry about changing it!!!!!!!! I have a great reason to get drunk tonight! Congrats Lofa!

I talked to the rep at fathead. Tracy was her name and she told me that a defensive player was in the works and has been since the clearance notice for the SA fatheads. She would not disclose which player was going to be featured...so lets all hope for TATUPU...
ReplyDeleteMichael - where u at in socal?
ReplyDeleteMar Vista-- Right between Marina Del Rey and Culver City
ReplyDeleteNice Work DirtyHawk
ReplyDeletethanks. she also said that it probably won't debute until after the preseason starts...
ReplyDeleteThis also answers why there has been such a deafening silence from HQ, if they were re-doing 4 defensive contracts AND working on an 8 year deal for Lofa...
ReplyDeleteNow a(nother) team player, might have offered to re-work his deal, if he had been injured a lot over the past couple of years, to give the team some cap relief and make some of this stuff possible..
I hate the Packers.
ReplyDeleteI hate the Largent fathead. I wish it had the "Seahawk" on the sleeve. Since it's so primitive, that's the reason I haven't purchased it. Selfishly, I became a true 'Hawks fan in '83 so I've only known Largent in the jersey with the "Seahawk" on the sleeve.
