On The Clock.....VIDEO ADDED

Well, with Mr. Tatupu's deal out of the way, and quite a few sleepless nights next offseason averted, we can move back to upcoming draft.

ESPN, everybody's favorite Hawk talkers, has the Seattle Seahawks...On The Clock... tonight. Here is the accompanying article by Scouts Inc, it really says a lot with out really saying anything. It is rather incredible actually. It does manage to fit in most of the national stereotypes of the Seahawks though.

Either way, tune in, if you must, to see Jaws, Kiper, and crew talk about who the Hawks won't actually pick. It will be featured on Sportscenter. I will add the video when it becomes available.

Also, for those who get NFL Network, they are replaying the Bengals game on Sunday. They replayed the Cardinals game last week, but I forgot to tell you, and you would have to be a sadist to wanna watch that one anyway. The Bengals game is a different story.

UPDATE-- If you tend to anger easily, don't watch this segment on Sportscenter. When ever Mel Kiper says something like, "yeah he was a one year wonder"... and "yeah he dropped some balls in his bowl game." Oh Boy!

To see the video....

  4. Hey Mike,

I can view the left side of the site again, but I still can't access any posts older than the one about the draft being weaker than originally thought.

Lofa is awesome, I got his jersey last year...which is now good for quite some time...awesome.

  5. That one is now on the second page, did you realize that, or have you tried clicking the "older posts" link and it didn't work??

  6. Wow, Walter is old and our Safeties lack range and don't scare anybody...

    What a spectacular article. ;)

I'll take our guys at S any day! The one truth I found interesting is that we lack a 'difference-maker' at TE, which Putzier isn't.

    He'll help, though.

  7. i'm sorry to say, but our safties don't scare anybody. not even a little bit.

  8. Our old safeties scared everyone, mainly seahawk fans (as people threw over the top of them). The new ones do their job and don't get burned like the old ones. HUGE improvement IMO.

  9. I don't like what kiper was saying in that video. It seems like first round wide receivers have one of the highest rates of being a bust. Why not pick a reliable big man (DT) or TE over a WR? Now that I say that though I think of Chris McIntosh and Tubbs, both 1st round big men who were essentially busts. That Koren Robinson signing still bothers me though and all the detriot WR busts...

  10. All I know is that Kiper has a serious man-crush on Devin Thomas. I don't know why.

  11. There is obviously a reason Mel Kiper is on TV and not on an NFL team making draft picks.

  12. What a crock of sh**! No way the Seahawks take a WR. Not going to happen. It amazes me that these guys get paid to say crap that any fan who watched the team for more than 2 games would know was wrong.

  13. Mel Kiper is an idiot. Have you ever seen his mock drafts compared to the actual draft? He gets very few right. He's lucky that he didn't decide to work on Wall Street because he be going hungry. He's the most overpaid guy in sports....and I don't even know what he makes. I'm not normally negative in my posts, but this guy bugs the hell out of me.

  14. Yeah his mock drafts are wide off the mark but I think his overall player rankings are helpful.

I remember looking at his big board the year we took hutch and all his top 20 or so guys were gone but hutch was still sitting there. He had him ranked the #6 player overall and there was such a huge disparity from where we were picking and the guys value (#6).

Kiper called hutch the safest pick in the first round. And he was right. If you can get past the hair, the attitude, and the little yap yap dog voice his player rankings are hepful I think but I agree mocks have never been accurate.

  15. Prisco's mock (CBS) has us taking Balmer, which would be ok but... he has Mendenhall on the board when we pick. I don't care who we have right now, if he is there when we pick we had better grab him. Of course Prisc is an idiot and it'll never happen, but still!

  16. I've said it before, and I'll say it again! you cant go with a backup (JJ started, but come on) and third string RB and declare the position good!

  17. Kiper is hilarious on draft day..He will be doin his commentary while waiting for the next team to turn in there card for the player they just picked..And while waiting Kiper will say pick this guy or this guy...Then the team picked someone other then what Kiper suggested and he gets all pissed off cause the player he thought would come off the board didnt.....LOL...watch this year hes a piece of work

  18. Just like every other time ESPN talks about the HAWKS...THE BASH US AND IT'S SHORT. I want to punch Mel Kiper in the face; just once, right in the chin. Then I would say that's for being a hawk hater. That guy just is negative and he's a baby. Getting all upset when teams don't seem to follow the thought process he has on the draft as if he was a real expert on every teams needs. Get over yourself Mel.

  19. These guys suck, they sound like they just read someone elses two paragraph recap of Sehawks 2008. What a bunch of clueless dipshits.

Who cares, we win the big one they'll be saying we "came out of nowhere"...

No one seems to be mentioning Martellus Bennet. The guy is the whole package at TE, he can catch, he is fast enough, and he can block. And he has the attitude to make it in the NFL:he is confident, and he likes to scrap. This is the guy who in college was part of a group of guys who called themselves The Legion of Doom, because they got in practice scraps due to thier intensity. We can get him in the second or third round too.

Id like to see a Stewart or Mendenhall in the first, if not available, then a big DT or a non-smurf Cb. Then take a TE or BPA.

I cant wait to see what Ruskell pulls on draft day this year...
