With what appear to be among the first official cuts of the year, the Lions have cut six players, most notable among them is cornerback Leigh Bodden. Bodden had a standout season in Cleveland (following some decent seasons there) before being shipped off to Detroit for Shaun Rogers last year. He will be looking to get paid, but after a year with the L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-Lions (TM Danny O'Neil) Bodden might come cheaper than he might like, especially with a couple of top-flight free agent CBs on the market like Asomugha, Hayden and Foxworth looking to cash in.
WR Mike Furrey and Safety Dwight Smith were also cut, both starters. ~END~
