Trouble in Paradise

by: Michael Steffes

Sorry I didn't get to this sooner folks, I wasn't paying much attention. Apparently, Julius Jones has officially become the first Seahawk to throw a temper tantrum this season. According tothis article by Frank Hughes, Jones was upset on Sunday and started ranting, including making comments about Mike Holmgren. He then did not show up for tape study on Tuesday.

There are a bunch of ways to look at this. One thing that upset Jones was that he got a total of 2 carries in the second half. He has clearly been the Hawks' best offensive player. Secondly, this isn't what he signed up for. He expected to be competing for a championship. I would assume most players did, yet he is the one who is running his mouth. Thirdly, Jones has given the Hawks a ton of effort this year. In some games, it could be said he is one of the few playing with any guts, and that has to be frustrating. It is upsetting to the fans to see the lack of passion so far this year, so imagine what a guy who is taking the hits feels like.

It is clear to most that there is a major disconnect in the Hawks this year. Jones seems to be questioning the conservative approach to the offense as much as anything. He wants to win games. As fans, we want the Hawks to win too. So . . .

How much do you fault Jones for this incident? ~END~
