Skins to Interveiw Mitchell, Hawks Grant Permission

This info from Mike Sando at the Hashmarks blog on Espn. Are ALL the Seahawk beat writers asleep or what????

The Redskins have also stepped up their efforts to land Seattle running backs coach Stump Mitchell. The Seahawks were reluctant to grant permission for the Redskins to speak with Mitchell, their running backs coach, about a lateral move. But sources said the Redskins want Mitchell enough to give him another title as well (along the lines of "assistant head coach").

Ernest Byner is under contract as the Redskins' running backs coach, but new head coach Jim Zorn has sought to bring Mitchell to Washington. Mitchell knows the offense well, particularly the running game. He has been with the Seahawks since Mike Holmgren's first season as coach in Seattle (1999).

Seattle's offensive staff has already lost offensive quality-control coach Gary Reynolds, receivers coach Nolan Cromwell and Zorn, the Seahawks' longtime quarterbacks coach. The team also fired offensive line coach Bill Laveroni, replacing him with Mike Solari.
