Ten Things The Seahawks Need to Win

by: Michael Steffes

Talk is cheap. The Seahawks need to stop thinking and talking and just do whatever it takes to win this football game. Green Bay is banged up, too. This is going to be like two wounded animals fighting for survival. These are some benchmarks that, if met, will mean the right team should come out on top:

1) Matt Hasselbeck needs to be on the field and ready to go.

2) Julius Jones needs to continue his streak of 100 yard games at Qwest.

3) The defense needs to pressure Aaron Rodgers. Chad Clifton, the starting left tackle, may not start. 4 or 5 sacks and the Hawks will be on the right track.

4) Koren Robinson needs to catch the ball. He is playing against the team that cut him before camp. Plus, if he can't get open and catch the ball, Bobby Engram will see bracket coverage all day.

5) Somehow, someway, somebody has to line up on Greg Jenngings and limit him. The Hawks won't shut him down, but if the defense can tackle him before 5 yard passes turn into 25 yard gains, well, that would be nice.

6) Ryan Grant. No freaking way, not again!

7) John Ryan cannot shank any punts. Kick em' high and kick em long and make GB regret replacing you.

8) Convert 3rd downs. The team has been MUCH better at home in this regards. Keep it up!

9) Win the coin toss and put the defense on the field. That is how you instill confidence in them. Actions speak louder than words.

10) Make the 12th man proud, because if you don't you are going to show up someday and find that it is no longer loud. Play with passion so we know you care as much as we do! ~END~
