Baylor OT Jason Smith! Not a huge surprise here, as we know that Spags wanted to get someone who could both protect the Quarterback and open up the run game with Steven Jackson. Smith is an excellent athlete and was the top-rated OT on most people's draft boards.
Smith will instantly improve the run game that has sputtered in recent years. Steven Jackson will again be a threat to worry about, and that's fun to watch as a Seahawks fan. Smith is also an excellent guy and seems like a fantastic addition. I'm happy to see the NFC West getting a bit better, but he will not be Orlando Pace so we've got that going for us.
Fun fact -- Tom Condon just got filthy(er) rich, he's the agent for the top two picks.
