Brief Scrimmage Summary

by: Mike Parker

I'm on my way out of town for a camping trip, but I just got home from the scrimmage today and I wanted to briefly mention a couple things before I took off:

-Justin Forsett is an absolute STUD. The kid broke for a spectacular 42-yard run during the middle of the game and was a reliable target out of the backfield for Seneca and Charlie Frye alike.

-Julius Jones saw limited action for some reason, while TJ Duckett and Forsett handled the bulk of the running duties. All of them looked very impressive no less; with Duckett being a surprisingly good receiver as well. He actually had a brilliant TD reception from Frye and made a great cutback move to lose a safety on the 1-yard line.

-Frye threw a beautiful 30-yard pass to Jordan Kent, who caught it just outside the end zone and ran it in. Kent is a freaking gazelle.

-Logan Payne and John Carlson are tied, in my book, for the most consistent receivers the Seahawks have this year. Both of them looked absolutely outstanding. And yes, the rumors are true - Carlson can block.

-Kevin Hobbs and Jamar Adams stood out as the best defensive players of the day. Hobbs was all over Kent and Payne alike, which is no easy task after you've seen the way they run.

-Brandon Coutu, though a little shaky at first, hit a 56-yard field goal to close out the day. Olindo Mare looked good as well, but Coutu gets the nod for best kick of the day.

That's it for now, but pictures are coming. Look for them tomorrow, because I got some great shots. -END-
