Clare Farnsworth is reporting the specifics of the deal on his blog
Rotoworld says...
The deal includes about $4 million in unlikely to be earned incentives, $4 million guaranteed, and a cap charge of $1 million in 2008. It's still a nice deal for the 27-year-old.
Unlikely to be earned incentives don't count against the cap. And with the long (5yr)duration, the team was able to spread out the bonus. Great deal, lets hope Duckett produces.
Also, Farnsworth's article mentions that Ellis Wyms is visiting Tennessee, but the
Hawks are also interested in bringing him back.
I have again updated the Salary Spreadsheet and currently show the Hawks with 108.52 mil counting against the cap. That would leave them a hair over 8 mil in space. They now literally will need that for rookies and emergency, so they will have to free some space to do more. Hopefully, Marcus's long term deal is announced tomorrow.
