Seahawks Eye Tackle Prospect

According to this report by Edward Aschoff from Gatorsports.com, the Seahawks are one of a couple teams who have spoken with Flordia tackle Carlton Medder. Medder is 6'5", 319 lbs. He started at right tackle for the Gators his senior year.

NFL Draft Scout
has him rated as the 34th best tackle, but some say he can also play guard. He was second team all conference in 2007.

This shows me that Tim Ruskell may be looking to take a tackle, just later in the draft. Many people seem to be promoting the idea of the Hawks finding their left tackle of the future in this years 1st round, however, I an not one of them. I believe that a first round pick needs to play, and soon. It is the only way to get value out of a first round contract. A tackle would be projected as a back up for the next 2-3 years at least, so a late round pick makes a lot more sense to me. Here is evidence that maybe the FO is thinking the same way. END
