According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network. It is a five year deal. This was expected. I, along with all Hawk fans, will wait and see the future reaching implications of this deal before passing judgment.
My initial reaction was uhhh! However, over the last 24 hours, I must say I have warmed to this deal. I honestly think that a tandem of Duckett and Morris could be effective. Does Shaun fit in there somewhere? I guess, but I don't see it. If Morris is on the field in most situations, the defense if far less inclined to guess run or pass, simply because Morris is effective either way. Duckett then does the one thing Morris isn't good at, short yardage and red zone. A rookie would have plenty of time to learn the system and make contributions later in the season. I just don't think there are enough carries for three backs in this offense, much less four. I will take Tim Ruskell at his word until I hear Shaun is out, but it would save cap space, and would open up a roster spot for the next stud Seahawk running back.
