Friday Quick Links and HELLLOOOO FOOTBALL SEASON

by: Mike Parker

Mornin', folks. It's Friday, and unofficial kickoff begins in less than eight hours, and it still doesn't feel like it's finally freaking here. The offseason has been agonizingly long, but we can all forget about that now. The team is in Minneapolis, gearing up to eat Tavaris Jackson alive tonight, and I can't wait to watch.

In the meantime, here's a couple links before I forget about work altogether:

-Danny O'Neil breaks down the Seahawks' running game in a detailed write-up here, and mulls a few things over as far as what the future could hold for this talented group of guys we've got vying for roster spots now. Sullivan already posted about Schmitt, and personally I think there were damn good points made in those comments about our need for a tough-as-nails fullback to add muscle to Weaver and Duckett's abilities. But Forsett is a stud no less...

-Aaron Fentress talks about Kerney's load being lightened this year with the added depth at DE. Jason Babin, it seems, has finally found a rythym with the defense, and he could prove to be a good backup to the beast that is Patrick Kerney, with LoJack covering the opposite end.

Thinking more about this, this is what I love about a) this time of year, and b) the fact that the Seahawks' options at this point are veritably limitless.

By the way, on a completely random side note, I scored tickets yesterday for opening day against the Niners, and I would love to tailgate with some of you crazy fools before kickoff. If you're as loud as I am during a game, I have a feeling we'd get along just fine. -END-
