Brett Favre Hangs em' Up

According to Chris Mortensen on Mike and Mike in the morning, Brett Favre informed Packers coach Mike McCarthy that he is ending his career.

In many ways, this is a sad day for football. However, I think it also benefits the Packers. It was time for them to see what is what with Aaron Rodgers.

Favre was Matt Hasslebeck's mentor, and Mike Holmgren's protege. Favre was the QB for Coach Holmgren's back to back Superbowl appearances in the 90's. The first of which he won. Make no mistake, there are still plenty of ties between these two organizations, and if you listed the teams that this effects on an emotional level, the Hawks would be second.

Good Bye Brett, it was always fun to watch you sling it. Lets hope Aaron Rodgers poops in his diapers during his first appearance at Qwest next year.
