According to Spartannation.com, Chuck Darby is the latest Seahawk to fly the coop. This was the same site that first reported the TJ Duckett signing, so they seem to get reliable Lions info. This is also posted on profootballtalk.
By signing with Detroit, Darby will be reunited with former line coach Rod Marinelli. Darby is 32 years old and coming off a knee injury, however, the common belief was that the Hawks wanted to keep him.
Ellis Wyms, another member of last years defensive line is in Minnesota today for a visit. Even if he leaves as well, the Hawks would still have five defensive tackles under contract: Bernard, Mebane, Terril, Tubbs, and Green. However, with Tubbs' injury situation, the team may still look to add depth. A draft pick is likely considering both Tubbs and Bernard are free agents next year.
UPDATE-- According to Clare Farnsworth at the PI, this deal is not quite done. In my mind it is. I was surprised it wasn't announced yesterday. So, if you were a big Chuck Darby fan, you may start your grieving process.
UPDATE II--- Deal Done, Reported by John Clayton. Agents are fun aren't they. Alge Crumpler Reprise.
