Kevin Jones was released by the Detroit Lions today. If you are expecting me to give some commentary on the Hawks interest, I am sorry to disappoint.
What I am interested in is the fact that Jones is coming off two consecutive season ending injuries. One to his foot in 06' and a torn ACL in 07'. Why do you care?
Well.... The Lions had no problem releasing Jones after a torn ACL, but the Hawks can't release Shaun cause of his wrist?!?! Seems to be a contradiction here.
This whole situation has nothing to do with whether or not the Hawks can release Shaun, but more about when they want to. The only thing that sticks is that they must be close on Trufant and are considering taking the whole cap hit this year. That theory makes a lot of sense. No reason to hold on to Shaun other wise. He needs to start looking for a team, and I am sure the Hawks are sick of all the conversation.
Hopefully, I am right. Stay tuned. Marcus' deal may be upcoming.
