Redskins Offer Hackett Deal

Doesn't look as if he is in any rush to accept it however.

The Washington Times reported a conversation one of their reporters had with Jim Zorn about DJ Hackett. Part of it is in the Redskins360 Blog.

We're not going to risk it all to try to pay him. The financial package has to work. But if we have a chance to get him, we'd like to have him. He's got two other teams plus Seattle that wants to match [his contract offers]. ....We've got a chance [to sign Hackett], but it's really a one in four chance right now," Zorn said.
Great news for the Hackett contingent. I am both in favor of bringing back Hackett and letting the kids play simultaneously. While I believe that players like Obamanu, Taylor, Payne and Kent will be fine this year, I also know that DJ Hackett has pro bowl potential on this team if he stays healthy.

I hope DJ does come back. The young guys will be fine this year, but they will do great if they wait till next year for substantial playing time. Unfortunately, as I reported this morning, it seems increasingly possible Carolina will be the one to overpay for Hack. Lets hope they don't and he chooses Seattle over everywhere else.
