Seahawks Sign Jeb Putzier

Wow! From the out of the blue category, the Hawks, with very little fanfare have signed TE Jeb Putzier. Clare Farnsworth is reporting this on his blog.

I posted about this when he was released, the Seahawks tried to acquire him when he left Denver two years ago as an up and comer. However, he kind of disappeared in Houston and Owen Daniels had taken his starting spot. There is a chance he could regain his form and catch some passes, at worse he adds depth to help out while a rookie learns the system.

Sorry to the Ben Utecht fan club, I think this assures he won't be coming here.

UPDATE-- This is only a 1yr deal, some of you probably know that, but I left the house right after I posted. Anyway, this is as clear a sign as any that the Hawks will be taking a TE fairly high in the draft. The might have there eye on someone specific, or realize that the class is deep enough that they will get a good one.
