Here is something i missed, and it seems the discussion thread did too. Danny O'Neil's practice report from yesterday had some interesting information.
Chris Spencer was on the field for the first practice of training camp, but was limited and he hasn't participated in practice since. The assumption was that it was an issue with his shoulder, which was operated on during the offseason. Holmgren said Thursday that it's Spencer's back, which tightened up that first practice. Neither Spencer nor Chris Gray will participate in Saturday's scrimmage.
So the good news here is that Spencer's chronic shoulder problems are not keeping him sidelined. The bad news is that both of the centers have back problems. In a way this is comforting, to know that Spencer's rehab/recovery is not the issue. Still, get your butt on the field Spence. Holmgren said this morning that he will miss the scrimmage, but be on the field as early as Monday of next week. ~END~

Shoulders Not Spencer's Problem
