A little more on DeBord

Written By Chris Sullivan
According to Frank Hughes over at the Seahawks Insider blog, Mike DeBord has been named our "Offensive Assistant." This could mean one of a number of things, most of which have already been brought up on the earlier thread. Perhaps the most likely is that Mora wants him as a successor for one of the positions (Offensive Coordinator, O-Line coach, TE coach) when he takes over in 2009. This seems more likely given his seemingly meaningless title. Its also possible that the Front Office likes him and thought he could help with the offense as a whole. Time will tell, I imagine.

A quick bio of DeBord-- 27 years coaching in college, 12 of which were spent at Michigan. He started in '92 as the O-Line coach, moved up to assistant head coach in 95 and worked as Offensive Coordinator for 3 years beginning in 1997. As head coach of CMU (2000-03) where he oversaw a stellar 12 - 34 record, before returning to Michigan for the last couple of years. He was one of the first coaches let go after Rich Rodriguez was named head coach at U of M. END OF POST
