Sando is reporting that Julian Peterson has been fined $7,500 for the same incident that drew a 15-yard Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty in the game against the 49ers. I was at the game and saw nothing of significance in this play -- did he do anything more than flex? And if not, how on earth is that "taunting"?
Brian Russell was not fined for his alleged late hit on JT O'Sullivan, nor was the 49ers player who delivered the season-ending helmet-to-the-knee hit to Logan Payne. I haven't seen a replay of the hit on Payne, so I can't pass judgment there, but I do believe Russell dove on O'Sullivan a little late on the play in question. How can you get fined for flexing but not for illegally hitting a QB?
The No Fun League continues its pattern of disproportionate responses and looking the other way. END POST
