Engram's future in Sea-town?

by: Chris Sullivan

Here's a bit more from Tim Ruskell's media talk yesterday; Eric Williams was kind enough to supply us with a full transcript which you can find here. In speaking about Engram, Ruskell had this to say:

"We like Bobby. As a matter of fact, we had a conversation last week. We have
great respect for each other, and he wants to be here, and who wouldn’t want him
to be a part of it? What I told Bobby was, let’s get the staff together and just
see where the fit is for him and for us. He said, ‘You know what? That’s the
right thing.’ And we’ll talk again."
On whether he’s open to signing Engram
to a multiple-year contract: "I don’t want to get into any of that. We had our
disagreements last year about how to do that. The same arguments will come up.
But the bottom line is, he would like to be a Seahawk and finish his career a
Seahawk, and we would like that as well."

I had sort of assumed that Bobby would not be back, and honestly, I still believe that. It probably comes down to what Bobby now believes he is worth league-wide, coming off an injury prone season where he did not do a lot to contribute, even once healthy. I would like to see Bobby in our uniform next year, sentimentally, but I'm not certain there is a space for him. With Knapp coming in, we are likely to see less emphasis on spreading the ball around and more on focusing on one or two WRs and our TE. With Branch, Burleson, Obamanu, Payne and possibly some new fellows from free agency and/or the draft, is there a spot for Bobby?

What say you, Addicts?
