Redskins to Make a Run at Engram?

by: Mike Parker

Jason La Canfora at the Washington Post suggests the Redskins could make a run at WR Bobby Engram this off-season.

The Redskins certainly could use a man in the slot like Engram, who could supplant the underachievements of other Redskins receivers Devin Thomas and Antwan Randle El. As we all know, Engram was already vocal at the beginning of the season about being unhappy with his contract, but he overcame injury to finish the year with 22 catches in the final five games of the season.

Plus, with Jim Zorn running the show in DC, Engram would be an obvious fit for the west coast offense that's been installed there.

And nothing against him of course, but if Engram did decide to leave, his absence wouldn't be a huge black hole that couldn't be filled--Deion Branch finally reminded Seattle why he was picked up for a first-round pick with his impressive performances in the final games, and John Carlson emerged as the most consistent receiving threat the Seahawks had all year.

Plus, there's some guy named Crabtree I hear the team might be interested in drafting . . . -END-
