It has been a while since we heard from former Seahawk running back Shaun Alexander. However, a article recently posted on nfl.com, has some interesting insights.
Shaun feels that he is apparently on the verge of being signed. It sounds from Shaun that he is going to be continuing his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, although he only hints at it...
"They want me to be Tres Siete," Alexander said Friday in a telephone interview with The Associated Press
This is of course falling in line with Chad Ocho Cinco, who was formerly known Johnson.
Shaun has always had a way of putting things in a positive light, and this article about his current situation is no different. "I am ready. I'm in great shape. My workouts have been great. I'm ready to get back and help a team get to the Super Bowl."
The likely hood of Shaun signing somewhere dramatically increases after the first game, as a team would no longer have to guarantee his salary. Any deal signed after the first week is essentially a series of 16 weekly contracts.
One thing that is good to hear is that Shaun understands his situation in Seattle was just business. He knows the venom some fans have will eventually fade saying.."After the smoke clears, I think people will say, 'You know what? That Shaun Alexander, he did all right when he was here,"' he said of Seattle. "I think there will be more smiles when the smoke clears."
Amen Shaun... someday soon you will be remembered for your 5 great years instead of your poor final two. ~END~
