Just real quick, but I thought you guys would be interested: Shawn Merriman has elected to have season-ending surgery on his knee. The AFC gets just a little bit more wide-open. A lot of Hawk fans think that Merriman won defensive rookie of the year over Tatupu based on one nationally televised game (they both had great years). Nevertheless, good luck to Merriman on recovering, as with Brady, we never wish pain or injury on a player -- we'd rather beat'em outright! END
