Scott Johnson has written a nice article about the Hawks getting to taste adversity early in the season. In a way that is a good thing. If the Giants proved anything it is that it more important to be playing your best football in January. Then you can beat anyone. But I digress....
On top of talking about the injuries, Johnson has compiled a nice list of possible WR's, and might be on to something with Billy McMullen. Skins fans were even confused why he was cut. Apparently he looked good in camp, in what we have to assume is a very similar system.
Here is the list....
Among the veterans who were cut leading up to the 2008 regular season were former Joe Horn (by Atlanta), Chad Jackson (New England), Travis Taylor (Carolina), Samie Parker (Carolina), Reche Caldwell (San Diego), Billy McMullen (Washington), Darnarien McCants (Baltimore) and Tim Carter (Houston). Among that group, McMullen has the most experience in the West Coast offense, having played in the system in Philadelphia and under Jim Zorn in Washington.~END~
