I won't spend too much time regurgitating news, but this story - written by Jose Romero at the Seattle Times - is exactly the kind of read you want going into the first game of the season with a young and unproven group of receivers.
"We love this. We love being the unknowns," Taylor said. "You get your opportunity to go out and prove what you can do. Most defenses don't know about you. Most defensive coordinators don't know much about you. But you get an opportunity to make big plays and shine when you're in the spotlight."Taylor, Kent and Payne are calling themselves "The Mystery Group," and rightfully so. Admittedly, however, typing those three names and not including the word "Obomanu" felt a little strange, but it's something we're all going to have to get used to. And you know what? That's okay. Obviously, we could have used Obo-wan's regular-season experience going into this season, but Matt has shown over the years that he develops chemistry with receivers quickly - so long as they prove themselves to be reliable targets.
But remember also - the run is actually an option this year. And the team has enough depth to keep mixing things up to confuse defenses, especially considering nobody has any film on what Holmgren might have up his sleeve this year. All bets are off, folks.
I have a feeling, though, that with Nate and Matt's help, Kent, Taylor and Payne (hereinafter "KTP") are going to get their chance to shine, seize every chance they're given. -END-
