This is off topic, so if you are a die hard, football only, don't care about other sports type of person, please exercise your right to click away. I woke up early this morning and I have been listening to KJR since 6am. It is by all practical accounts a funeral.
The Sonics Franchise is moving to OKC. It is a SAD, SAD, SAD day for Seattle. I am still almost too angry for rational thoughts, so I am going to avoid ranting and raving in this space. All I will say is this... why now? Why did the city pretend to put up a fight? What they did was the equivalent of taking a knee only down by 4 with a minute left. There is enough blame that everyone can take piece.
I was a big Sonics fan. My family had season tickets to the Supes when I was in Seattle. I saw my share of games, including the finals up close. At those times, the Sonics were a great escape from the mediocrity of the Hawks. Recent years it has been the other way around. Even a new team (which won't happen while David Stern is alive), won't be the same. If I choose to spend money on an NBA product, it will likely go to Paul Allen's Blazers. More likely, I will just ignore the product.
Mostly though, I just wanted to give a space on this blog to express your thoughts. Part of being a Seahawks fan is understanding the plight of the Seattle fan, and the national perception of the city, the area, and the teams. So spout off, but please keep the language clean. Anything else goes. END
