Something To Monitor

by: Michael Steffes

There is a developing story in Buffalo, that up until now, I chose not to cover. I felt that things were too foggy to starting predicting the eventual impact. However, the fog is lifting.

If you didn't hear, over the weekend, Marshawn Lynch's SUV was involved in a hit and run accident at about 3 am in the bar district of Buffalo, NY. The woman hit sustained minor injuries and was able to get herself into an ambulance for treatment. There was no direct evidence, only the fact that it was his car, that made Lynch look like the guilty party.

Well, the next piece of the of the story is that the police can't get Lynch in to talk to them. So far, he has been stonewalling them. First bad sign.

Now, there is a report that shortly after the accident, the Buffalo Police found Lynch's car in his driveway, with damage that tied him to the scene. At no point did Lynch report his car stolen. Second bad sign. It is possible he will be charged with leaving the scene, which is a class A misdemeanor, and punishable by one year in jail.

What I am more interested in is the possibility that this will lead to a one game suspension. While it may be his first offense, and only a misdemeanor, this is the type of situation that may warrant a 1 game suspension. Especially since he is refusing to cooperate. I am sure you all know... The Seahawks play the Bills week one, and Lynch is arguably their most important offensive player. Lets wait and see. END
