In news that has been somewhat expected, Michael Strahan, the voice and face of the Superbowl Champion Giants has decided to hang up the spikes.
First off, I want to say that Michael Strahan is and has been one hell of a player over his career. He deserves to be a first ballot hall of fame. He performed very well last year despite being up there in age and not playing full time. I hope you enjoy retirement Mike.
Now, for the implications. The Giants just got a little weaker. For one, they lost an inspirational leader. Now they will have to decide whether to move Justin Tuck outside for the majority of snaps and risk wearing him out, or move Mathias Kiwanuka who played OLB last year there. Tuck was very effective playing inside on selective passing downs last year, gathering ten sacks, and Kiwanuka is coming off a broken leg. Either way, the Giants nasty pass rush just lost a top performer. END.
