The Seahawks have extended a formal invitation to Norfolk State CB Don Carey, according to Ed Thompson at Scout.com.
The visit is scheduled for April 14-15, where Carey will have an official meet-and-greet with the coaching staff and tour the facilities of the VMAC. The Seahawks and also the Dolphins have shown interest in Carey due to an impressive workout earlier this month.
Carey, a four-year starter, stands 5'11" and weighs in at 192 pounds. While his size isn't overwhelming, he posted some good stats from his senior year with Norfolk State, including five interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a blocked kick.
It's also worth noting that Carey had the second-highest GPA on his high school team at Booker T. Washington, where he also graduated with honors. It definitely sounds like he's got qualities that would make him appealing to Ruskell. He'll be one to monitor as the draft inches closer in the coming weeks, especially if his upcoming Renton visit goes well.
