According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Leonard Weaver is getting a lot of interest from the Eagles. Many Hawk fans still hope to sign Weaver, myself amongst them, but few believe that it's a better than 50% chance, and this development doesn't do anything to improve those odds.
The Eagles run a version of the west coast offense, so Weaver would have an impact almost immediately. Serving as the lead blocker for Westbrook and potentially taking some of the carrying duties from recently departed RB Correll Buckhalter, Weaver figures to play a prominent role in the Eagles offense. Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News thinks the fans would clamor over the move:
Weaver, 26, might be too good to be true, from the perspective of fans who have long hungered for a power running option. He's a fullback who can actually carry the ball here and there - 30 times for 130 yards last season, while catching 20 passes for 222 yards. At 6-0, 242, he has played fullback and halfback in an offense very similar to what the Eagles run.
What do you guys think about Weaver to the Eagles? ~END~
