The Jets and Seahawks DT Howard Green have agreed to a one-year, undisclosed contract, according to ProFootballTalk.
Green played for new Jets coach Rex Ryan in Baltimore in 2002, when Ryan was the defensive line coach.
After the signing of Colin Cole, it seemed even more likely that Green, an unrestricted free agent, would shop the market and probably not return to Seattle in 2009. This also tells me that the Hawks' coaching staff has a lot riding on Cole's ability. Remember, the Packers fought hard to keep him in Green Bay.
This isn't a huge loss for the Seahawks, as the team looks to continue bolstering its front seven come draft day. This updated mock draft even has Todd McShay predicting the Hawks will take Boston College DT B.J. Raji with the No.4-overall pick.
I'd be more inclined to agree with Mel Kiper on this one and say Eugene Monroe has a better chance of being picked up at No.4 than Raji, but anything could happen between now and April 25.
